Introduction
ImSan’s Dialysis department consists of the hemodialysis department, peritoneal dialysis and nephrology department. We provide high quality care to patients with nephrology needs. We provide the best information about different treatment options for patients who need to be prepared for dialysis in the future. We also guide our patients through this process, so we can find a way of care that best suits our patient.
In addition to this we also provide 24 hours on call services for patients in need of acute dialysis.
Our team consists of nephrologists and specialized dialysis nurses.
Location
ImSan’s Dialysis Center is located on the first floor of Instituto Medico San Nicolas.
Upon completion of the registration process, patients will be directed to the designated waiting area.

International Information
It is possible to receive dialysis during vacation on our beautiful island. If you desire to make use of the dialysis center of ImSan during your vacation, please request service at least 3 months in advance by telephone.
- Application should be submitted 3 months prior to the date of service;
- All required documentation and laboratory tests should be submitted thirty (30) days prior to your initial dialysis appointment;
- Laboratory tests: HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C should not be older than 6 months;
- The MRSA( Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) test should not to be older than 6 weeks;
- All your information will be analyzed by our medical staff;
- All applicants will receive written confirmation of their dialysis appointment.
To ensure quality of care we only accept patients who meet the following conditions:
- Are not within the first year of dialysis treatments.
- Have no psychiatric disorders.
- Have no contagious diseases (e.g. HIV positive/Hepatitis B positive/Hepatitis C positive/ MRSA Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) positive.
- No history of medical instability.
- No history of non-compliance and/or disruptive behavior.
The costs for hemodialysis are US$ 775.- per treatment. This includes registration, doctor’s fees, routine dialysis laboratory services and limited medication. Extra charges may occur, such as medications, non-routine laboratory services, X-Ray services, non-pharmacy items and take-home medications.
